Together Estranged, a leading non-profit dedicated to supporting and empowering Estranged Adult Children navigating family estrangement, today announces a change to its leadership. Angel Cassin, founding board members and Director of TE, is stepping down from her role. Angel has been a key player in building the grass-roots non-profit, with founder Seth Forbes, first as a community volunteer in 2020, before joining the board in 2021 and taking on the directorship in 2024.

Angel concludes her work as CEO to begin maternity leave, following a two-year tenure working on the organisational structures, community offering, board membership, communications and research.
Reflecting on her tenure, Angel expressed pride in her role as part of the organization, acknowledging the trust afforded to her by founder Seth and the whole community of members, volunteers and donors who make Together Estranged what it is today.
“I am in awe of what we have all achieved together, despite social stigma, geographical distance and resource limitations – a real community, built on an ethos of compassion and understanding; sustained by passion, dedication and belief that this cause is worthy of our collective energy. Even in the face of ignorance and judgement, our volunteers persist in their work to serve this community. My contribution to TE has required consistency, resilience, many practical skills, but it has given back so much more – a sense of belonging”

In light of this transition, TE is pleased to announce the appointment of Alyssa Mullett as CEO. Alyssa has been instrumental in her prior role as TE People Manager, building the board to its current membership and developing key policies and practices that strengthen community and organizational capacity. Under her leadership TE will enter into its fifth year of operation with more strength and clarity of direction than ever before.
Alyssa’s passion and dedication to the community will help to realise the vision we have to create a world where adults who are estranged can go on to lead fulfilling lives.
As Angel transitions into a role on the board, she remains invested in working with the others to realise the mission.
